Went to Devon's to look for an anniversary gift for my wife and I. James was awesome! We talked watches and showed me some beautiful pieces that they had in stock. I walked out with a new BB58 GMT, and a ring for my wife. I was very happy with my purchase. I will definitely plan on returning for all my future watch and jewelry purchases! I brought in my mom's Longines watch. My mom had recently passed away, and the watch has great sentimental value. However, it was badly in need of cleaning, and wasn't working. Ian, was the nicest guy! I was embarrassed about how dirty the watch was, but he took it back and cleaned it with a smile. Then, he popped in a new battery. A few minutes later (after being offered a Perrier water while I waited by another great employee), I was happily on my way wearing my mom's watch. I know she would be so happy, as was I. This experience cost a whopping $20!! They also have beautiful jewelry, so I'll be back. Customer service like this is so rare these days. There was definitely an old time, caring feel to the place. I can't say enough good about them, and about Ian - please check them out!

When i stepped in DeVons Jewelers in Reno enquiring about Rolex, I was referred to Scott Strang. He is friendly and patient in answering my queries. Scott is very experienced and knows his stuff very well. He is definitely the person to go to. Although I was not able to get what I wanted this time, Scott handed me a Catalog for my reference. Really enjoyed my time at DeVons Jewelers and I hope i will have a chance to get my dream watches with Scott at DeVons.

I have been a customer at DeVons since 2017 and believe that after five years of fantastic service I should share my experience. I would also like to address a review from a previous reviewer whom I don't know. The last review for this store was posted by Travis Vandevoir; it was actually the update to a previous review. In his initial review he praised the store and Scott for the great service he received and shared that he put his name down on the waiting list for a Rolex. Eight months later he changed his 5-star review to a 1-star review because he said the store never called him back. Clearly Mr. Vandevoir doesn't understand the state of the Rolex market today. The simple facts are this: If you are a new customer to any authorized Rolex dealer, you should not have any expectation of getting the watch you want within a year (many of the most sought-after models are multi-year waits and only after you establish yourself as a client by buying other stuff). And, if you're not a local, you probably shouldn't expect getting a watch at all. I don't know where Mr. Vandevoir lives, but based on his previous reviews it appears he's not from Reno, or nearby. The sad truth of the Rolex market is that authorized dealers have lists dozens and hundreds of people long for watches. The amount of people wanting new Rolexes is orders of magnitude greater than the amount of watches produced and sold by Rolex. The sales people at DeVons would like nothing more than having an endless stock of watches to fill everyone's desires. But, they just don't.

Mr. Vandevoir's belief that he should wait no longer than seven months to get a watch is not based in reality. Reality is that even established customers wait far longer than seven months for Rolexes these days. It doesn't matter if you've wanted that watch since you were a teenager, a GMT Pepsi is not a multi-month wait, it's a multi-year wait. I've wanted a Daytona for years and years but I haven't been able to buy one. Should I blame DeVons for that? No. Wanting a specific Rolex for a long time doesn't qualify anyone to buy one. Furthermore, the onus to maintain communication with an authorized dealer is on the customer, not the store. They simply have too many people on their lists.

It is unfair and unreasonable to review DeVons based on Rolex market conditions beyond their control.

But enough of reviewing a previous review: My experience with DeVons has been fantastic.

Just today I stopped in with two watches that I didn't even buy at their store and Darrin Cody took the time to help me with both. He resized one of the watch's bracelets even though it's an Omega, a watch brand they don't even sell!

Every time I've been in the store I've been treated respectfully and professionally. Communication with the salespeople, especially Darrin, has been honest and transparent.

I highly recommend DeVons.
