Zero stars for this place. The guys there were very rude and refused to honor their online sale price. I love supporting small local businesses when I’m traveling, however this place will not be getting my business. I ordered from Amazon for 10 bucks cheaper.

Went with my girlfriend to try on touring boots and mount a pair of tech bindings. The individual who helped us with her boot fitting kept putting her in alpine style touring boots when we were clearly interested in lightweight touring boots. We felt it was fairly sexist in that the individual didn't believe she would be doing the kind of skiing that those boots are intended for. They eventually went on to help someone else. So we tried on some of the display touring boots which ended up fitting great. Hopefully you get someone else if you got to try on boots. I wish ski mountaineering shops weren't so pretentious. On the other hand. The individual who mounted my tech bindings did a meticulous job. He got it done right and would trust them to mount any tech binding.

Been shopping here for 2-decades plus but earlier this year I was talked into joining their special 'bro discount club by Louis whilst laying down a grand or so for merch.

But, despite 3-conversations with Louis & Brendan and an unanswered e-mail about never receiving e-mail/text notifications about sales, discounts, rebates, etc., its soured me on future Alpenglow Sports money drops.

Yeah, it was only $20 to join but so far it just looks like a donation to their bottom line. Not good guys. Not good. And hence the 3-star rating.

September 16, 2024 EDIT: Through a few back/forth voice messages I finally got a hold of Brendan, the owner of Alpenglow Sports, and he explained there were other's that experienced similar e-mail issues surrounding the Alpenglow Card Member program due to a data entry problem. In the end, Brendan apologized and made up for my frustration and I'm happy to report all is resolved and I feel like a valued customer and I've revised my original 3-star rating to a 5-star rating.

Mistakes happen and its always better if a merchant reaches out to repair the problem as Brendan did.

Had a great experience buying new shoes here! Good selection of books too. Employees were knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Much, much better than my experience at Village Ski Loft.

Alpenglow has been a family favorite of ours for as long as I can remember.

Their selection is awesome, and their staff know everything about the products.

Just as easy to pick up a Christmas present as to get fully kitted for a winder backpacking trip. Easily the best store in Tahoe.

I so rarely write reviews, but this store is excellent! I live far from the mountains so buying alpine ski gear is difficult. They were so helpful and attentive! I had an excellent buying experience where knowledge and time was shared with me humbly and also expertly. I am now a big fan!
