Fantastic a little smoke shop in truckee they had cigars. I’m doing cigars among others. Catherine one of the owners was very courteous, greeted me with a smile, and showed me some of the products if you are in Truckee, and in need of cigars or smoking accoutrements try out JL’s smoke shop.

So we recently visited this smoke shop. The selections was great. The worker there recommended a specific water pipe for us he said it was great we decided on that one. We got home used it for one day it worked decently well. The next day we got it out to use, the roommate pulled the bowl piece out and water started leaking out when he let go of the pipe the whole side piece came off with it! There was hardly any pressure applied when he was doing this it was not in any way our friends fault that the piece fell off. So we called right away to explain the situation at hand. She put the phone down for 20 min and then hung up and would not answer our calls. The next day we called back to her shop, this time I actually got to speak with her. She said that they could not do anything for us she was very rude and super mean. I spent $150 on the water pipe and I believe that her costumer service was unacceptable. I would not buy anything here if you expect to get your moneys worth. If the owner would like to give us some type of compensation then I will gladly remove this post.

Excellent store, very friendly and helpful staff. Great selection and a fair price for everything. Please stop selling the US-CIENTO 200g scale. I’ve bought two of them so far and they are absolutely awful and always off. Awful product

I was visiting Truckee Recently and I needed a new water pipe as mine had broken, so I happened to drive by JL's smoke shop and thought I'd see if they had anything besides cigars or pipe tobacco. I was so shocked to see the amazing variety of products this store carried that I spent 5 minutes just taking it all in. I've never seen so many pipes, one hitters, water pipes, grinders, glassware, vapes, etc in my life and I live 15 minutes from Berkeley California! They had clearly marked price tags on every item so you could go to the area you were thinking of how much you wanted to spend, find those items, then decide what what best for you. THEN I met the older gentleman who was working there and he could NOT have been nicer or more personable than anyone I've ever met in my entire life. (He even reminded me a little of Sir Patrick Stewart with his kind eyes and smile). The next time I visit Truckee I will absolutely be visiting this store 100%

Recently moved into the area from SF and I was pleasantly surprised at this shop. I was a bit worried with the current reviews but decided to chance at it, as they have a nice virtual tour that shows the shop online. After a quick flash of my ID the large gentlemen directed me around the shop, which has a huge selection, and helped me find an awesome US Tubes Water pipe which was a great price and I couldn't be happier. While I was getting my pipe the guy ended up helping some older folks buying a pax 2. Intrigued by the system I listened in on the guy and he was full of information, and basically ran us three through the entire setup within minutes. After that he took us up front and checked us both out making sure the pax ran correctly and even had me check my piece over carefully. Which I really appreciated as most smoke shops don't even care to double check even though they don't do refunds or returns. My next trip in here will certainly be to buy a pax 2, support this awesome shop, and it's very well informed staff.
