Call them for some help because I was getting nowhere with other shops. Had some questions about metal detectors and got the same attitude I get from every other gold mining shop. It seems like if you don’t call them and know exactly what you’re talking about and you’re ready to spend lots of money they really feel like you’re wasting their time with questions that may Help me make a decision to make a purchase. It’s super disappointing when local shops do things like this with things like Amazon and online stores that are cheaper and more helpful via email. It’s gonna be sad to see these little spots get pushed out of business.

These guys are always helpful in advising proper equipment and how to use. Also a great place to gather research info on mining and identifying minerals or rocks.

The owner of this business is very unprofessional. I went into his business to inquire about gold panning with my son only to have him very abruptly point his finger at me saying "what do you need, I'm with someone else" Feeling like I'm being put on the spot and rushed I thought I'd wait until he was done with his customer. After waiting several minutes I decided to wait and call him at a better time the next day. Right after he answered the phone he was rude and trying to hurry me up, literally rudely asking while I was in mid-sentence "is there anything else I can do for you I have other things to do". To the point where I said "I feel you're going to hang up on me" (we were only on the phone a little over a minute) - his response was pretty much get lost and hung up. I will never do business with this company in my life and will let everyone know the same.

Response: I did not notice the reply to my review 5 years ago. This owner is a liar and no way remembers me or my son, he is a gas lighter and tries to make me into the bad guy in order to dissolve my review. I have been amazed by two things in the last 5 years one watching a rocket return and land on its pad and the other that this business is still in operation.

I had a great experience at the gold prospecting store. Jimmy had knowledge and experience with the items he showed me. I would definitely check this place out. They are stocked with great items in a cool old brick building.

We had a wonderful experience five of us from Redding and Vacaville. Joey was an excellent educator of all things about gold mining, and Placer prospecting in the area and even showed us how to use a sniffer bottle to remove several flakes. He had recently found nearby. We would highly recommend him as an excellent way to spend an hour or more in his well equipped shop, to try your hand at prospecting as well. Best metal detector store I’ve come across in Northern California. He ordered me a detector he didn’t have in stock. This store is definitely is a customer oriented. Other metal detecting stores I’ve been to blew me off or tried selling me something different and he’s open other detecting stores in Bay Area are closed and aren’t open.

Really friendly! They made an appointment so that we could come by. My son and I went in and the gal really helped answered questions, was very kid friendly and they have a lot of cool gold prospecting toys to checkout! I totally recommend checking them out!
