American Hope Chest Thrift Store

This place says it's closed but it's definitely open. O M G I went with my mom and sister and we LOVED IT. A little bit of everything. Great prices. Vintage inexpensive and expensive jewelry. Retro clothes and lamps. You can't beat it b this place is awesome. I came from Ontario. Definitely worth the drive. Come check them out.

This place is great! The owner is super nice, she has lots and lots to look at. It is very well organized, very clean and you will find great deals! Everything from clothes, shoes, vintage dishes, glassware, jewelery of all makes like brooch pins, rings, necklaces, watches.-all in great condition! Pottery, Antique fishing poles, wood works, I can carry on! You've gotta check it out! Here are pictures of a few items I purchased.

It's a great place the workers are so sweet and kind the hours they open at 9:00 a.m. and they close at 7:00 p.m. they're open everyday the problem is that someone's changing the hours and putting that it's closed and putting different hours I work here I tried changing the hours to the correct hours but it doesn't let me I don't know who is changing the hours wrong and who's putting it it's closed for sure it's just some hater for they can't get no customers over here So letting all of you know we open at 9:00 a.m. and we close at 6:00 p.m.

Stuffed, dirty and I had to ask who worked there. There was an older man sitting outside the door with his dog, a man on a recliner in the middle of the store watching TV and a lady going back & forth talking to them. I paid the guy at the door after he gave me a random price that was double what the sign said, which I corrected, so he met me in the middle. Ridiculous really! I won't be returning.

crazy smell ?!! I get it’s vintage but i’ve never smelled anything like that before especially a store

as i was shopping she told me they were closing (this did not match their posted hours, i was there while they were supposed to be open) and she asked that i leave (not that i take the glass vase i had in my hands to be purchased at the register, she asked me to leave) so i set down my purchase and left. i was ok with this because it reeked like cigarettes inside and i wasn’t sure any of the clothes inside were wearable due to this. however, she came off unfriendly for no reason, i followed her direction to leave. i went to staters, and as i drove home past this thrift shop about an hour later, the same woman was walking through furniture with a couple of people outside chatting, the gates were open, and the couple’s truck was parked where i was parked… i realized they were not closed, i was just kicked out. i hear that this woman accuses people of stealing a lot, and i was browsing when i was asked to leave, so i wonder if she ASSumed i was up to no good. additionally, there is absolutely no reason to have dozens of pieces of wooden furniture sitting out in the elements for months/years straight. all that rain and snow we just got, and the furniture is still sitting outside “for sale”. unfortunately this store front matches the “dump” aesthetic going on in the town… the furniture is warped and looks rotting from the road, but is still for sale. not helpful nor kind to people in this community at all… just an eye sore for us and our visitors to see on the way into town /: i can’t wait for this place to be cleaned up and turned into something useful.

One positive note, there is a wide array of products. Sadly that's it. Overpriced. Smells horrible. I had to wash my hair and change my clothes right when I got home to get the cigarette smell out. Owner not personable. Didn't greet my mother and I, stared at us the whole time like we were going to steal something. Had high hopes for this place. Lived here almost 5 years and have never been inside, always wanted to, but never will again.

I was shocked by what I saw. The clothing on the outside was filthy and faded. Then I entered the store, and it was something out of a scary movie scene. The lady in the front did not turn around to greet me or anything, and the lights were all off throughout the store. I will not be coming back. If the customers cannot feel safe in the store, there is a severe problem.
