I've brought several family cars to this shop over the years and have increasingly complicated jobs for them. I just brought my new car to them for installation of an amp, subwoofer, sound processor, dash cameras, thermal imaging camera, radar detector. Felipe was really efficient, always friendly, didn't upsell at all, and is very thoughtful in his work. He doesn't cut corners and talked through everything I wanted in terms of placement, access. He made suggestions where appropriate, and his workmanship continues to be stellar. Highly recommend. For those of us who care about our rides, Car Audio Specialties is a good place to entrust your vehicle.

Do NOT come here if you have an investment vehicle. I have come into this shop since April 2022 to do four installs, including speakers, a subwoofer, an amp, and a head unit. The first install was fine, but I noticed that Felipe was constantly saying that he has "been doing this for 30+ years". After the next few installs, he became more and more arrogant and his customer service skills went out the window. Instead of helping me find a solution to any issue that would come up, he would say "what can I tell you?" or "I told you there would be nothing but issues with this unit". Also, he would take 1 week vacations constantly throughout the year without notice or website updates. He would also stop answering messages via text and voicemail. The last visit was the worst on 10/21/2022. After spending $580 just for a head unit install without parts, I came for a follow-up. I asked him to add the two usb cords that came with the head unit somewhere under the dash. Thirty minutes later, he calls me to pick up the vehicle. He had drilled straight through the area under the dash without asking me or even taking off the panel first, and he did not even have the courtesy to clean up the plastic debris. I really hope he did not drill through any wiring behind it. I felt like he rushed me out because he was going on vacation the following week. Overall, I believe Felipe is someone who is unenthusiastic at this point in his career, and he will likely retire soon. I would not count on any warranties that he offers or responsiveness. This shop is disrespectful and unprofessional and puts the JL Audio banner outside the shop to shame. Take your business elsewhere. If he treated someone like me who spent a lot of money at his shop, imagine how Felipe will take advantage of you. Thanks

Beyond disappointed with the quality of work here. I have had my friend work on my car and they discovered that all the work done by Car Audio Specialties had been given no effort or ethical consideration. Application of dynamat was severely lacking and areas that were covered were not rolled down at all meaning it was not effective. Also the insides of my door panels were not covered with dynamat so basically he charges you $100+ per door to put a layer of dynamat over your doors to make it look like it has been done but your insides are still tinny.

Like some others said, don't come here. They are expensive and make the job worse for the next person to work on!!

These guys do great work. I called around to several places before making my choice and their prices were very fair. Had a new stereo system and back up cam put in our Tacoma. They did a great job, were very quick, and Felipe even did some custom work to set the angle of the screen to reduce glare and didn’t charge me extra. Highly recommend.
