My go to Latin grocery store has to be Northgate Market. I’ve been shopping here for over a decade. You can find great prices, quality produce and meats. They have aguas frescas, a guacamole station, bakery and more. They go all out for the holidays and offer specialty meats, dried fruits, tamale husks, etc! Everyone there is always very friendly and helpful.

So I've always known Gonzalez northgate as being a little more expensive but ive prefered them because the quality and service is always better compared to the other stores around the area. Went to the carniceria today, grabbed my number and patiently waited for my turn. Some random lady shows up with a number like 20 something numbers lower and demands service. The employee questions her but still decided to help the person who clearly was not there when they called her number or found number lying around.I specifically stopped going to El Super (there competion) for this same reason as it was out of control and come to Gonzalez to have the same issue. They need to get this under control, if you ain't there when your number is called then grab another one, it's Plain and simple. They used to have a dedicated employee controlling the numbers and calling them out and really need to go back to this model. I was not the only person frustrated about this today at the store. GONZALEZ NORTHGATE PLEASE HELP.

I purchased a chicken combo plate and was very disappointed. The chicken looked good but was raw in the middle I was trying to get my money back but they wouldn't let me. I am very displeased.

I was in the furthest lane to the right looking out into the parking lot, two people were in front of me. A lady and a man with his daughter. The cashier spoke to both in Spanish and also asked them if they wanted a bag, she also helped them both bagging thier items. I was next, she looked me over and soke in English and later asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes, she pointed at a group of bags at the end of the counter, I looked back at her with a bit of shock, she then reached for a bundle of bags as I was about to bag my own items, pulled one out, stuck one of my items in it handed me the receipt and began to ring someone else before I could finish.
I felt like asking her " am I too white for you?" Never have I been treated like that in a Spanish store in my life. To answer your question, yes I'm Hispanic this happened at Northgate 06 08.08.24. 14:04:02

Disappointed!!! I bought a flan after asking 2 employees if their flan is homemade like and they said yes,(they said we use real ingredients).It’s nasty super artificial watery and not milky at all!

It's an 'OK' market for Hispanic foods & general groceries. Fruit & vegetables are mid road in terms of quality but can be a good buy if you've compared prices to other chains. BEWARE: Don't use, much less, rely on the courtesy scales ANY Northgate provides. They are useless- totally useless to be of ANY help to customers. In fact, they should be removed. They don't help to even approximate the possible weight of a bag of items. They're decorative so that Northgate can say they're customer-oriented.
