I’ve recently purchased a car at Honda of Vallejo. I have to say… this was quite an unpleasant experience. This wasn’t my first time purchasing a car from a Honda dealership, so my expectations were set on a smooth transition into a new car and to be treated with kindness… pretty simple right? Well, the sales rep I somehow ended up working with, Rick (I was dealing with a different, much friendlier sales person initially) was very condescending, rude and attempted to make me feel small multiple times during our interactions. I left feeling knots in the pit of my stomach. This is not how someone should feel after shelling out thousands of dollars. Had it not been for the amazing finance manager, Mike, who made me feel a little more at ease about my decision to purchase…. I wouldn’t have spent my hard earned money here.

I knew exactly what I wanted and had spoken to multiple dealerships in the area. I reached out to Honda of Vallejo via email and worked with Joshua S, who was helpful online and even more helpful in person. It felt like Joshua was working with me rather than against me, and helped me leave extremely happy with my new 2025 CRV. He made the process smooth, easy and painless. The dealership itself was also clean and comfortable. It’s clear everyone there takes pride in it.

This place was great with friendly staff. Was able to schedule quickly and set up my laptop and worked while I waited. Took my car in for recall work, called other dealers that were closer to me and they didn't even have the parts. I would definitely go here again.

I knew exactly what I wanted going into Honda of Vallejo, and Brian helped me get it.

Was in the market for a 2024 Honda Civic Sport - Brian got me a no-nonsense quote, got me situated for a remote test drive, and then helped me with all the paperwork on site.

There was the typical waiting and warranty spiel, but this has by far got to be the easiest, friendliest, and most straightforward car purchase I have ever made.

We ended up taking it for a victory cruise on 37 and 101 and had an absolute blast - thanks again!

I previously had a bad experience with Honda of Vallejo a few years ago due to the degrading customer service over the phone, but decided to check them out again since they had a specific car in inventory I've been looking for. I had an appointment scheduled with Pierre but ended up working with Rick. At first, our conversations seemed fine, but I'm assuming it was due to another salesman being right there with us. Once we got to test driving, that's where the hospitality ended. I'm not sure if he assumed I was a stupid young person wanting to test drive the car and waste his time, but that's how he made me feel. A lot of the questions I asked were met with a sarcastic tone, or as if the answers were common knowledge. The whole test drive was pretty uncomfortable.

Once we sat down, we got to discussing potential terms. He would ask me questions and I would give him answers he didn't want to hear, and he made it known with the sighing, long pauses, and the "you can't possibly be this stupid" looks. He told me the deal would be a tough process and that I'd need $2.5k and a temporary CA license for my husband since he couldn't add me on the contract *at all* due to my name changes. Mind you, NONE of these were issues for Anderson Honda where I ended up buying my new 2025 Odyssey from. He kept asking me to contact anyone I knew with a good credit score and $2.5k available. Once the sales manager sat down with me, Rick was a lot more pleasant. I left feeling insulted and bullied. The following days after, he seemed more friendly as we talked over the phone - I'm assuming since he probably realized I genuinely wanted to buy a car. The whole situation left me so baffled, I decided to drive an hour out to another dealership that also had a Honda Pilot. I wouldn't recommend Honda of Vallejo to anyone. You'd have better service at Honda of El Cerrito or Anderson Honda at Palo Alto.
