For some reason my cell phone screen would go completely black while receiving incoming calls. The phone would still vibrate but no matter what button I pushed the screen would remain all black and the phone would keep vibrating as the incoming call was happening. Trying to swipe up on the screen to answer the call and start talking would also do nothing.

I emailed iFixandRepair around 3pm and asked if they would be able to help. Less than an hour later Nick replied to my email saying he should be able to fix it that day.

I drove to the iFixandRepair location in Palm Desert Walmart and got there around 7pm.

Nick was helping one other customer when I arrived which turned to me waiting in line before he was done and told me that Nick was an extremely helpful guy and that he was looking forward to coming back again to get his Bluetooth enabled radio fixed that he was asking Nick questions about.

I then reminded Nick of the problem I was having with my cell phone and he immediately started working on it, taking it apart in front of me to try to diagnose the problem.

When I told him I had recently just got the screen replaced because it was cracked, he did his best to try to fix the phone by removing all screws and parts and replacing them back together but the problem persisted.

He then started trying to take out 1 screw at a time to see if he could even get it to work at all and to my surprise he was able to get the sensor working properly so the screen did not stay black while receiving incoming calls. However, anytime he would put the phone completely back together, with some of the screws not in place near the top sensor that seemed to be causing the problem, the screen would always remain black as it seemed like the screen itself was exerting force or pressure onto the sensor and causing the problem.

Luckily Nick did have a single replacement screen for my specific cell phone so he replaced the screen and the problem was fixed.

All of this work was performed right in front of me as I sat in a chair at the front desk and was talking to him and trying to understand the problem myself while he was working on it. He also even had to work slightly past the 8pm closing time and was not at all upset or frustrated because of it and remained very friendly and kind the entire time.

Nick told me he would give me the same price for the new screen that I paid at the other store when I had it fixed previously, which was $60, even though he quoted me a price of $80 for the new screen. Because I was so satisfied with his service and results I actually did not even want the discount and ended up just paying him the full $80 price.

I will always go back to Nick at iFixandRepair whenever I need work done on or have questions with my cell phone in the future. The other store I had been going to was decent, but the level of quality service from Nick at iFixandRepair was second to none and such a pleasure to do business with that I am happy to pay extra money anytime I return.

I brought my laptop here and it was handed back to me in BETTER THAN NEW CONDITION! I was SO IMPRESSED! I have been to so many shops from Los Angeles to the Desert and this one is THE BEST. Just a week ago, my phone completely died in the Christmas Section of that same Walmart! I brought it in and it was fixed on the spot—- handed back to me in AGAIN BETTER THAN NEW CONDITION! Nick was awesome. He spent over an hour trying to get my phone to work, going as far as temporarily relplacing the battery and motherboard. He owned my problem. I eventually purchased a phone from him, and his follow-up was excellent. I encourage anyone to use his services.

This place got the best customer service. Their phones are great their chargers are great. It’s a lot quicker to deal with someone that knows what you need and they also fix phones, but I like about this place. The most is I work inside the Walmart and then I need my phone charge.
