Best restaurant in 29 Palms and adjacent to Joshua Tree National Park. Best pies I’ve ever tasted - berry, vanilla pear. Dan Dan noodles were exceptional. Great place for groups to taste a range of dishes. Cool outdoor rustic setting. Perfect spot after hiking 49 Palms Oasis.

Incredible atmosphere, the food was good but really salty mains- definitely pricey for what you get. The service was very friendly but incredibly slow. We appreciated the comped ice cream due to the wait times. Would recommend drinks and apps then going elsewhere for your dinner.

Great tapas style place in the middle of the desert with good music & an intriguing oasis style atmosphere. It’s surrounded by small artist shops and is easy to get to from the east end of Joshua Tree. Came for dinner. The food and drinks were good, although for a shareable dish place, it doesn’t have a large selection, hinting at an intentionally limited seasonal menu.

The food and drinks are delicious, but the ambiance of this place is really what makes it special. Very creative and unique decorations that make you feel like you are in an artsy desert oasis. Both the inside and outside are decorated beautifully, I want to steal some of their decor ideas for my own home! The outdoor seating is great in all seasons because they have ample sunshades on hot days, and heating lamps and blankets for when it gets cold. Will definitely be taking anyone who comes to visit us here!

A real gem in 29 Palms. Curated delicious chefs menu and lovely cocktails all served in a delightful setting. Indoor and outdoor seating. Make a reservation if possible. It gets busy. Vegetarian and vegan friendly. A must try here!

Great experience! It was a chilly evening but the heaters & blankets kept us & food warm. The lights and outdoor setting & choice of music made for great ambience. The food ranged from best we had, to fairly disappointing. We enjoyed the lamb the most, but would’ve liked a bit more heat. The brussel sprouts were the best we’ve had, well cooked and balanced in flavor. Chilli flakes were a nice touch. The beet salad was tasty but could have used another textural element, not sure if the fennel really worked. The plaintains were enjoyable in the beginning but got cold fast & then felt pretty bland. They were a very tiny portion for the price and not fried enough and missing a dipping sauce. The jerk chicken is the trickiest one to assess, the chicken was tender & tasty enough but it was nowhere near spiced or seasoned well enough or had enough heat to be considered jerk chicken. The habanero sauce that came with it were not that hot and just a smear— more would’ve helped. The biggest letdown was the calm tea! It was $5 and came in this odd french press that was hard to use and when poured into the cup became very cold very quickly. We had a nice waitress & the food came out quickly, but we had a fairly long wait before getting to order & had to wait awhile for a heater to turn on. An extra glass I requested for our toddler also never came. That said overall we enjoyed our dinner here and would probably return if we were in the area.

Ambience is amazing with hippy vibe in the desert. The menu is unique and surprisingly good both in terms of taste and combinations. This place is usually crowded and reservation is recommended. Parking can be a challenge given the location on main road. We tried the beet salad and avocado toast, both were great.

Loved our lunch at Kitchen in the Dessert! We got lucky and waited about 10 mins and landed a table inside. Few inside seats, ample outside. Great service from Georgina and the staff. Really loved the Falafel (black beans & beets), Doubles, Smash Burger and Plantains. They said everything is made fresh (meaning no ketchup here) and it tasted like it. Great atmosphere. Definitely recommend especially if you want a couple vegan/veggie options.
