This is the worst experience we have had at Mike's bikes of Pleasanton in the last 8 years. We have got 2 different bikes and gadgets from them. This experience is about the recent BMC bike we purchased from them in May 2023. We gave the bike to them for repair for the failed brakes and they could not locate the problem in the bike for 4 weeks. The mechanic, Omar was very unprofessional and kept delaying the repair of the bike as well as they always tried to trick my 13 year old Son by selling spare parts and telling that some part of the bike does not work.

They suggested the oil for the brakes and when we bought the oil and tried to bleed the brakes, they said we contaminated the bike by doing so. They replaced another part for free saying that was faulty and on 12/05/24 when my Son went to take the bike, they said the brakes are not working and since he opened them, the brakes need to be replaced for $70. We had an argument with them and they replaced the parts for free and denied any further service onwards.

They are the worst, rude and unprofessional people I have come across. Please stay away from them and please check what they are doing to your bike. Do not TRUST them.

One of the best customer experience you will have for for any shop call my let alone a bike shop. Whether you're buying or getting your bike fixed, the staff is extremely professional call Mike courteous, and helpful. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Josh after repair cite a couple of times. Extremely honest, thoughtful and has gone out of his way to save me money every time. Great experience, always.

Walked in around 330 on a Friday afternoon. Two other customers, both being helped in different parts of the store. No greeting, no we’ll be right with you, nothing. Searched for a new bike seat on my own for about 5-10min. Still nothing. Picked out a seat I thought might work and walked to the cash register. Waited. Nothing. Finally saw a staff member who glanced at me asking if I was good as he continued to walk away, not stopping to hear me say I’m ready to buy something. Waited a few more minutes. Nothing. Put down bike seat and walked out. You are much better off spending your $ and time elsewhere.

I asked about demos of two bike I'm trying to choose between and they told me it's discouraged and I could only demo one of them, if I was very sure I wanted to buy it. Also they didn't have the size and were going to have to transfer the bike from another store even for a test ride which they said they would only do if I was very sure I wanted to buy it.

Not what I expect from the local shop at all. If I want to commit to a bike I've never seen I can order from a DTC brand for 30% less.

They do get two stars for having a decent stock of parts and gear conveniently close to the trails, but I wouldn't drop 8k on a bike at a shop with this kind of service

Great staff all around! The phone conversation I had earlier during the day got me to go into the store later that same afternoon; test rode the bikes that was in my price range, and went home with the bike I was looking for. Beats just purchasing it online.

See NOAH LINDE for EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE I've been out of mtn biking for a few years and am looking to upgrade my bike with new bars and pedals, as well as purchasing a new helmet. After a few minutes in the store, I was met by Noah, who gave me his undivided attention for about 45 minutes, showing me options for handlebars, helmets and pedals. Furthermore, he spent time showing me the advancements with e-mtn bikes and explained how they meet my riding needs. I'm not ready to spend that much for a new bike, but when I am, I'll be buying from Noah! Thanks again for a great customer service experience today - not many stores value their customers like Mike's in Pleasanton does!

I really cant say enough about how good these guys are. I bought a bike from them (Cervelo Caledonia Ultegra) several years ago. Fredo was so knowledgeable and found me a perfect bike. Unfortunately, it was stolen recently and I wanted to buy another bike. Their shop didn't have this bike in my size so I ended up buying from a dealer in Utah. There was an issue with the brake disc as it was rubbing without engaging the brakes--probably damage from shipment. Brian worked on it and trued the disc. I expected to pay him for his time but he said I owed nothing. Also I spoke with the manager John when I was considering getting a slightly larger handlebar. He told me some changes I can do to the brake/shifting levers that would make it more comfortable and talked me out of changing the handlebar. Bottom line, we are fortunate to have such honest people here and they deserve all the praise with their knowledge and guidance. If you have any bike needs, you should come here as I couldn't feel more safe with their care.
