So taxes are due on 20 December and their annex on Salem Road has decided it’s gonna close these last two days before the end of the tax payment now you have to go to usher Street to pay which is really inconvenient for the disabled. I give them they don’t even deserve any stars.

Please get someone to answer the phone rather than menu that leads you to the specific person you need to get the specific information you need, but never responds to your message. Or how about an email portal if no one wants to talk on the phone. An unused phone is a useless phone..

Poor over the phone service. Never answer the phone on both calls 11:05am and 2:18pm. I Left message both times, no one call back. Didn't have the time to go into office. My last office visit was friendly and helpful. It Probably depends on day of the week and who's working. Today is Monday 🙂

Marcus Jordan needs to get out of office. When is the next election!!!!. I've been in my home since 2018 and every year he increases the property taxes by $ 1k. My current tax is $4,558. This is ridiculous!!!. He assessed my property value based off of 2 larger homes that were sold. He does not care about the people he serves, this county has the most expensive property taxes. I feel like I'm being forced out of my home that I've lived in for 5.5 years.

No matter what time you call this office no one answers the phone and if you leave a message no one calls you back either. Every time I have a question I have to go into the office. Usually when I get there the property tax clerks are not busy, and the wait is short and they are helpful. It is such an inconvenience dealing with this office. Several years ago they would answer the phone and make call backs. The commissioner needs to work on improving this department not customer focus at all.

Yet again I’m trying to contact Newton County Tax Comm. office. I called at 2:05PM (they re-open after lunch at 2:00, per the notice I received), no answer left a voicemail. Called again at 4:30PM, no answer left another voicemail. I call the phone number for New County that ends in 3030 vs 2020 (called prior) and selected the option for tags. The phone was answered “Hello” I asked if I was speaking to Newton Co. she said Yes, I stated I needed to speak with someone about cancelling my tag. She said I will have to come in. When I explained I moved 2-states away, she said one moment… and then hung up on me. I called back, and there was no answer. I’ve now received two fines in the mail, when my insurance company has already provided them with proof of insurance. I had to have FL insurance to get a FL license and request the title transfer. My car is now registered in FL and I need to know how to cancel my tag, and of course for the fees to be removed, but I can’t get any help from anyone at the New County Tax Commissioners office. This is NOT public service, and something needs to be done. This is not the first time I’ve had this issue it’s the second time in less than a month.

My property taxes were overpaid back in December by over $1,300. I have been trying to get it refunded for the last couple months. I have called repeatedly and no one ever answers the phone. I have made two trips to the office to talk to someone and still I cannot get the money return to me. They acknowledged it was overpaid but still cannot refund to me yet. They keep putting it off.
