Potters automotive has done multiple jobs on my Silverado, they even fill up my windshield wiper fluid on one job. The owner explains the issues very well and every job was done very good. Also I’m 17 and there is a few mechanics that take advantage of you and charge you more or say it’s a different problem so you need to come back and pay more, but here they treat you fairly like all of the other customers. We moved to Silverton, OR about 2 years ago, having lived in Southern California for almost 75 years. When we needed service on our cars we asked around and were referred to Potter's Automotive in Silverton. We have been 100% pleased with Potter's and this is our go to place. They are friendly, professional, very good at what they do and very fair on prices. Highly recommend Potter's to people in the area.

I had my 2003 Honda towed to Potter's as it was overheating. They did a great job of diagnosing a coolant leak that had warped my head gasket, and they diagnosed front break pads at 0 mm. Not the best news, but their diagnosis was consistent with my understanding of the car including a slow oil leak and breaks which were making some noise. My car has over 260k but I am now enjoying the unprecedented thrill of driving my old, late-model economy car which has new life thanks to Potters. They replaced the engine seals and gasket, installed a new radiator, fixed my rotars and pads, etc. I am glad to have a very reliable and trustworthy independent mechanic in Silverton, OR. The fact that they gave me a discount on a somewhat complex engine issue was over the top. If you want an amazing, honest, and reliable mechanic and live nearby or even in Salem, look no further than Potter's.

Went in because my lexus was sputtering and wouldnt go over 20mph or the engine would stall. Asked them if they could do an OBD1 scan and they said i would have to leave the car there for a day because there is a wait, no big deal. I had to be in portland the next morning so that couldnt be an option so I decided to not leave it there and fix it myself. As I was just having a casual conversation with the owner about what I thought was wrong with it based on my experience with these lexus V8s, the owner became very defensive basicaly saying i have no idea what i was talking about and how he has been doing this for 27 years. I decided to just fix my car myself and it ended up being what I thought was wrong with it. Would not reccomend this place based on my experience

They do great work. New owner and they are even better. Friendly small-town service. Very affordable. Their no appointment for an 8 AM drop off for an oil change and the basic check is very affordable and they get done fast!

After hearing a friend say her daughter had once had a bad experience with Potters I was sceptical. But after reading all the good reviews, I opted to try them anyway.
Upon walking through the door, I was immediately put at ease, seeing one of my favorite customers where I work standing behind the counter. I explained what I'd heard and he immediately explained that it wasn't their shop that did that work. But it was their shop that took the hit from her bad reviews and hounding. Knowing everyone involved, I chose to believe my customer. The work was done in a timely manner. Very professional service. My car has its a/c back and I'm a happy camper!
