We are so fortunate to have an expert bootfitter in the DC area. It’s a huge pain in the butt trying to carve time out of your vacation to figure out equipment, so it’s so relieving to have access to Brian and his staff, who are always there to take care of my needs. Every time I come to the shop I learn something, and often stay a lot longer than I should just soaking in as much knowledge as possible.

Brian has put I don’t even know how many hours of work into my boots. I have problematic feet. But he’s always been positive, helpful, and worked to improve the fit. I now have the most locked in and comfortable fit that I’ve ever had.

They are the kind of people who you feel good about giving your money to. Quality work and quality service. And that means SO MUCH these days.

Echoing a recent review to recommend getting fitted by Brian.

Pro Fit was heavily recommended to me by a great ski instructor at Massanutten and I was fitted by a younger gentleman as Brian was unavailable / packing for a trip (he later helped some customers after finishing packing).

I have tried several sizes of rental boots and told the fitter I felt best in a 26.5, but after doing the foot scan it was explained to me that rental boots are looser and a 27.5 would be the correct fit. I took him at his word given this was my first pair of boots and he is the expert - the boots did feel snug enough sitting in the store, and I left with them. I took them on a trip to Deer Valley and felt extremely disappointed when I realized they were too large (both width and length), and regret not pushing to try the smaller size and that I didn’t get Brian’s opinion. An expensive paperweight + lesson learned.

I went to pro-fit to get fitted for boots. The staff were all nice but ultimately they put me in a boot that was a size (maybe 2) too big for my feet. I’ve only been skiing for a few years and this was my first time getting fitted for boots. As such, I had a sense of what I wanted but relied on the advice of the fitter for the type of boot and fit. After about 10 days of skiing on them, I took them back to the shop and explained to them the issues (mostly heel lift due to boots being too large). They did some work and gave me some boot shims but charged me for it. From what I’ve gathered, if you purchase boots from a shop, they typically make adjustments for you free of charge for at least a year after purchase. The adjustments helped but there is no way to make boots smaller so the fit issues still persist. Given the cost of boots, I’ll have to make do with my current fit for the next couple of seasons until I can justify dropping more money on a pair of boots.

I was fitted by a younger gentleman at the store, who was pleasant to work with, but may not have had the experience or knowledge as some of the other fitters. From what I gathered, the owner of the store (Brian), is extremely experienced and an expert at boot fitting. So if you do go get fitted for boots, your best bet is probably with him.

This shop is outstanding. Good selection of high-performance boots, excellent boot fitters, and really nice folks. Got a good price on my new boots, came back the next day for fitting work. I'm a hard fit -- high arches, wide forefoot, bunions, etc. Brian worked with me and is clearly a top-notch fitter deserving of his excellent reputation. Instead of selling me a new footbed, he repaired my old one. He had a novel solution for opening up the forefoot of my liner, better than slicing the liner with a razor (which I've had done in the past). He expertly handled all my 3 needed punches. He suggested another nice boot-hack (booster strap) to enable flex adjustment, for after I'd skied in them a bit. Best fit I can remember for new boots leaving the shop. Can't give 10 stars, so we'll have to make due with 5.

By far the best experience I have ever had at a ski/snowboard shop. Nancy and Brian are amazing! First off Greg did our boot fitting and was super knowledgeable and very helpful in the choosing process. Never did he try to push us into a more expensive product. After purchasing our new boots and bindings we had a minor inconvenience with some missing hardware. Not to worry! That's when Brian and Nancy stepped in and took action! They absolutely went above and beyond! I felt extremely taken care of by the time we left. We will definitely be back guys! We need more businesses like Pro-Fit Ski & Mountain Sports in our community! Thanks again guys! A job well done!

This was my first time getting fitted for ski boots, and I don't know much of the lingo/tech behind them either. However, I was helped by Christoph (sorry if misspelled) who was happy to explain everything step by step. Even after trying on 6 different pairs, he was so patient and willing to find the best fit and specs for my level (usually blues and blacks). Another thing to note is that they do not charge over msrp nor for the fitting process. Will definitely come again if I need another pair of boots!

10/10 highly recommend!! Brian fitted me for my ski boots and he did a fantastic job. They are comfortable and fit like a glove. I feel like I have so much more control over my skis now. Shop local folks!
