My son was a client of theirs, who had multiple behavioral and mental issues in his life. I loved him very much and did my very best to get him the help that he needed. What I remember about STCMU is this. The last part of my son's life he was struggling. I guess he was giving up on life. He went in one day to see his counselor Cassandra. Who I cannot say how many times she cancelled appointments on him. He phoned me while in session with her, and said, "dad, I don't want services anymore." He passed the phone to Cassandra. I said to her, "he needs help." Adding, "please encourage him to keep services." Her reply to me was this, "I feel you are coercing him into seeking services." This Cassandra is where you are wrong! I wanted him to keep services because I loved him. Go to a dictionary and look up the word coerce. A month later my son died. I'm not blaming you for his death Cassandra. But you, my dear friend, have no business being a counselor. So anyone who reads this reply is this, do we as parents coerce are adult children into getting help? Or do we do it out of love? And to you Cassandra, do STCMU and it's clients a favor, and quit your job as a counselor. You are an embarrassment and an insult to other Social Service Workers who do care.
