These guys were courteous and expedient. I came in knowing exactly what I was looking for and came out with exactly that and more. Jered’s the man—I got a set of zip fits and resort boots and they fit great. More importantly he made a clever repair on a ski pole basket mount of mine, something a number of shops have botched in the past. Good vibes in here, recommend it!

Start Haus is the best shop I have ever been to! The moment you walk in the door the people working the front greet you with smiles and go out of their way to be so helpful. I got new ski boots and custom footbeds as well as a zip fit liner and it is the best boot ever. Greg helped me and I can't say it enough he listened to all my needs and got me dialed. 10/10 no one does it better!

A few years ago we came here to get my wife's ski boots fitted. As beginners we trusted them to give us the best recommendation. The boots in practice were challenging to make work. We eventually had to get a custom liner. And even then we had to put the buckles on their tightest settings and thus the boots were challenging to put on

Since then we've gotten more experienced and realized what happened. The fitter was rushing and due to lack of stock of a boot that would have fit, she recommended us another boot and told us they would also work. My wife has the smallest ankles of anyone we know. And the boot we ended up which was a high volume boot. We lacked experience which she took advance of, we went with her recommendation.

We have since bought from other bootfitters, only go with low volume boots, and have a much better end result. Honestly we are not sure how a "skilled bootfitter" could have possibly recommended a high volume boot with the foot profile that my wife has. That's why we've come to the above conclusion

The staff at Ski Haus is knowledgeable when it comes to fitting racing boots, and they likely have one of the largest selections of recreational racing boots in the Tahoe area. I recently purchased a pair of Lange boots from them and, overall, I'm satisfied with the service. However, I later discovered that they sold me boots from the previous season instead of the new 2025 models. I’m disappointed that they didn’t mention the new boots were available. Before my fitting appointment, I called to inquire about the new Lange boots. Before going to the store, I also checked the Lange site, but it hadn’t been updated to show the 2025 models. Given this, I assumed the 2024 boots were the same as the 2025s. A few weeks after my purchase, I learned that the 2025 boots had already been released. It was frustrating that the staff didn’t inform me of this, especially since they could have mentioned the upcoming models.

Very friendly service. I was so happy to have my ski's worked on by these down-to Earth Technicians. The two young ladys up in the front of the store are really sweet!😋too. Great in sales on products and determinating best way to solve your issues. Stan too is very knowledgeable on helping me find a good Racing Binding too. So glad to have Start Haus here.👍👍👍

Thanks for helping me out when I busted up my rear wheel last year. They put a new wheel on and got my sb100 tuned up great. Pretty cool that they have the shop cam where you can see current activity going on there. Thanks Start Haus!!

Start Haus is the best bike and ski shop in town. It is their staff that makes this place an institution and my go to shop. Everytime I walk in it is an educational experience. They are service oriented and very helpful. When I need to take my bike in I can trust them. They have a high attention to detail and I know my bike will be dialed. I have had a lot of issues with ski boots and they have always been super helpful working with me to keep my feet happy. I cannot tell you show much I love this shop and respect everyone that works there.
