I brought a precious watch that I inherited from my great aunt, in to have it extended because it was too small. Mike is awesome to work with and very personable, as was his staff. Doing due diligence, I also contacted other jewelers as well for comparisons. All the other jewelers said, "It couldn't be done," and refused to do it. I'm so glad they did because Mike is a perfectionist to the enth degree and the watch looks great and sized perfectly after one minor adjustment (which Mike happily performed to ensure it was a perfect fit). He did a terrific job and I'm very pleased. He's definitely my "go-to" jeweler for all future jewelry endeavors.

I’m overjoyed! I’ve had my beautiful wedding ring for nearly 40 years. A few months ago my hand started swelling and my finger hurt so much I asked my husband to cut my ring off. It sat in my drawer for a while before I took it in to have Mike repair it and man, did Mike ever repair it. I dropped it off two days ago and yesterday received a call from Susan saying it was ready to pick up so I drove from Truckee to Tahoe City because I couldn’t wait to get that ring back on my finger and to tell Mike thank you for not having me wait a couple of weeks. I was thrilled and had tears in my eyes. Mike not only added gold to the bottom (the shank) of my ring so I can wear it again but put in a new head and prongs that needed repairing. He buffed my ring and it shines. The diamond shines again. (I hadn’t work done done since 2015 so I was overdue for some help and usually take my rings in every 5-7 years.) I also took in another ring that I wear on my right hand and that finger swelled as well so my husband cut that ring off of my finger too. When the ring was cut off the diamond fell out and we didn’t notice it so it’s somewhere in our garage. Mike used a diamond from my mothers ring that fit perfectly in the new head he placed on top of the ring and when I put it on my right hand it shined beautifully as well. Mike Grant knows exactly what he’s doing and does is so superbly well that I will not take my rings elsewhere but only to him at the Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City. It’s worth the drive no matter where you live in Tahoe and you will be so satisfied and staring at your hand all the way home afterwards. Susan is a pleasure to talk with and knows the business so well. She’s been with Mike for years. I’m overjoyed! Oh yeah, I already said that. 🥳

Mike and Susan were both awesome! We spend time between Tahoe and SF and I looked at a lot of places between the two when I was looking for the right wedding ring and really glad I landed on this place. I was out of my element but they were super helpful throughout. Would recommend to anyone!

I can’t express how delighted I am to have found Michael and his jewelry store. I purchased a few items but when it came to buying and changing out my center stone in my wedding set his experience was far beyond others. I looked around Rocklin for help and was told many times it could not be done in my custom wedding set. Well Michael did make my new solitaire diamond I purchased from him work. Happy happy happy. I had a great experience working with Michael. He was able to do a major repair on my wedding ring, not only in a timely manner, but to a very successful result. I would recommend him for any jewelry repair. His shop has beautiful jewelry, much of it is his own designs. Lynne

This place is utterly fantastic and what makes it so amazing is Mike and Susan!! We had just gotten engaged at Lake Tahoe and the ring was one size too big and we couldn't find any other place that was open so we decided to call Steve Schmier's Jewelry to resize it and they got us in the same day. We came back the next day to pick up the engagement ring and it was still a little too big but they were more than happy to resize it again. Mike showed us an in-depth process on how ring resizing works and it was very exciting to hear about it. Susan and Mike both made us feel very comfortable and it felt like we were talking to friends. We are so thankful for them and the work that they did to help us have the perfect ring! We definitely will be going back here again if we are in the area! Mike and Susan are amazing!

I was recently passed down a family heirloom ring that was made at Steve Schmiers Jewelry in 1990 for my great grandmother. I was thinking about changing the setting but after talking to a few jewelers, I changed my mind knowing this was worth more than what I was being told and I truly loved the ring as is anyway. Mike Grant at Steve Schmiers was able to find the original appraisal for us dating back to 1990 in his hard copy archives and he did it within a day! It just so happens Mike was the same person that helped my great grandmother design it. We were blown away with the customer service and not only that but the way this company cares for each of their creations and is organized enough to prove it. Thank you, Mike!! My grandma and I are very happy and I wear my ring proudly. :)

Went here looking for rose gold rings for our wedding anniversary.... waste of time. I’m used to getting judged by my appearance, but there’s a lesson when meeting someone covered in tattoos.... they typically have money to spend. After being ignored in the shop, we left. We ended up getting custom rings made at Blue Stone Jewelry with exactly what we wanted. The ladies who work there/own it were so welcoming and helpful and sweet. Sorry, but the customer service here sucks. I’d suggest going somewhere else unless you “look wealthy”.
