I am a very regular customer of Randy's--both buying and selling, and have been very happy with my experiences. There is a constant flow of new merchandise coming into the store and the pricing is very fair. The look and atmosphere have improved so much since they bought the store that I really enjoy dropping in to just look around on a regular basis. Randy and his wife seem to be really interested in helping me find or sell the things I need--even their dog is sweet. They are a great new addition to Truckee.

My wife and I are thrilled with our experience at Summit Studio & Home. We walked into Summit Studio and browsed the furniture on display. When we got to the bed frames, we were discussing which ones we liked when the person who we later learned was the owner stopped and said "I think I know one you'll like, I'll show you on the IPad." He showed us the pictures on the IPad and said he could have it for us in 3 weeks which amazed us as the supply chain issues associated with the pandemic were still in full effect. We agreed that we loved the look and ordered the whole bedroom set on the spot. As promised the furniture arrived in 3 weeks and was delivered at a time that worked with our schedule. Purchasing furniture at Summit Studio was a great experience and we love the look of our new furniture. We look forward to making future purchases here and recommend all our friends and family shop here instead of going to Reno.

The quality and selection is wonderful. Parking is never an issue and inventory changes frequently enough to make you want to visit frequently. The styles are definitely mountain-esque but more modern. Much of the furniture appears to be high end and very well made. Most items are consignment but there are new items as well.

However 2 cons. One is not under their control. There is a gym/HIIT/sweat-insane-amounts place next door that plays their music obnoxiously loud during classes... or whenever. It permeates the entire warehouse. Pair that with the music that is playing in the shop, it is auditory overload. I don't know what can be done and I feel bad for the furniture shop, which was there first I think.

2nd con are the prices. For consignment, much of the furniture is exorbitantly priced at least in my opinion. Example, and given I dont know the new prices, but $3500 for an obviously used (but still in very nice condition) sofa just seems high. Other items, such as chairs and cabinets can be over $700, again on consignment.

Overall it is still worth visiting.

Don’t take stuff here - Randy is completely unreliable. We sent pictures and he accepted everything until we showed up and then he didn’t want it. We had paid movers extra to load the items and deliver them. We are very disappointed in his business practices- the prior owners were much better.

Love this shop! The inventory is both consignment and new product, rotating often. I've bought both gently used and brand new stuff that I absolutely love. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful too!
