I have been waiting to write this review, as I am still in the middle of my medical journey with this office- and this probably won’t help me get the care I have been waiting for, but I hope it helps so that no one else has to go through this. I am in my early 30s and have been vomiting (now-up to) 50-75% of what I eat and drink (including water) for the last 6 or so months. It took me MONTHS to get a consultation with a nurse practitioner and then they scheduled me for an upper endoscopy 5 months later.. it wasn’t until I called back and told them how horrible my quality of life was getting that they moved it up to 1 month away- which I did appreciate. I had my upper endoscopy 3.5 weeks ago and it was determined that I needed another exploratory procedure to determine how to move forward . After fasting all day for the upper endoscopy I went home and was non stop vomiting for hours, I couldn’t keep any fluids in and ended up in the ER, passing out from dehydration in the waiting room and needing 2 bags of IV. Dr Riegler’s reaction to this when my family member called to inform him was that I was “probably just anxious.”…
It has been three and a half weeks since then of calling their office a couple of times a week to schedule the next procedure. First I was told the order was sent to twin and to call Twin directly to schedule My appt.. I called and they had not received the order, Riegler’s office sent it a second time and once again it never made it.. the nice scheduling person at Twin gave me a fax number and told me to check that they had the correct number.. turns out they were sending it to the wrong department.. I gave CCG the correct fax number that was given to me and was told by CCG to call Twin (again) to schedule. Twin had received it but informed me that so the my type of insurance, I had to go to French hospital.. The response from CCG was “oh yes that’s right, ok we will send the order to French, call them tomorrow to make sure they received it and to schedule.” The next day I called French hospital and they had no idea where to transfer me because I am a patient and they schedule manometry tests with the doctors office as they need to know the doctors availability first. The nicest nurse at French was so wonderful and supportive and felt so bad that central coast gastroenterology was sending me on this wild goose chase trying to make an appt.
I have called CCG 3 times this week trying to advocate for myself.
They know that I have had 4 upper endoscopy’s since the age of 16 due to esophageal and indigestion issues (2 through their office), they know that my mom survived stage 4 esophageal cancer and has tested positive for the mutyh genetic colorectal/gastro cancer risk, they are aware that I have been vomiting most of what I eat and drink for months and that I feel weak all of the time but have a physical job and am also a mom.. i have only written a few reviews in my life and they were positive ones for places that I thought deserved a high praise.. I am tired and I am frustrated- leading me this review.
The only good thing I can say is that the nurses I had before my procedure were so kind, attentive and great at their jobs- I feel terrible that they have to be associated with these low reviews on google.
