I recently purchased shades from The Shade Store, and while the product itself is great, I was extremely disappointed with the overall service.

First, I want to acknowledge the personnel in the shop—they were incredibly nice and knowledgeable, which made the shopping experience pleasant. There’s a wide selection of products to choose from, so finding the right shades for my home was easy. However, the positive experience ended there.

The biggest issue was the delivery time. It took over 3 months to get our shades installed, which is an incredibly long wait. On top of that, when the product finally arrived, it was incomplete. We had to follow up multiple times to get the missing pieces, and it was frustrating to deal with the delays.

To make matters worse, when the installer arrived, it was clear that he had been smoking weed before coming to our home. This affected the professionalism of the service and left us with a bad impression.

Overall, while I’m happy with the shades themselves, the slow delivery, incomplete order, and unprofessional installation experience make it difficult to recommend The Shade Store. Good product, but terrible service.

I could easily write a long review with a litany of complaints, but I will save myself the trouble. Suffice it to say, the only time the store stays in touch with you is when they are trying to make a sale. After that, good luck connecting with your representative and getting your needs met. Autumn sells hard. it's annoying. Email after email with lots of pressure to place your order. Be aware that after the sale she couldn't care less about you. Customer Service goes out the window and so does quality. We have literally had an issue with every single one of our shades. After months of putting up with poor communication and quality, I have finally decided it's time to let people know about this company and our sales rep, Autumn. She will even claim to have sent you emails, but when asked to produce them, she can't. Besides the low quality, we were quoted three different prices on one shade that had the exact same fabric and the exact same dimensions. This place is a rip off. I would give zero stars if I could.

We've talked about getting shades for our get away place forever and just never prioritized it. Over the last ten years, we've basically redone everything in the house and finally decided to take the plunge and order new shades after the sun damaged our new flooring. Designer Julia Baker and The Shade Store in Strawberry Village made the process painless and easy! Julia assisted us with scheduling measures, the selection of the window treatments and all the installation logistics. All the staff were so professional and highly skilled.

And what an incredible transformation!! Who knew shades could make such a difference?! I can't tell you what an incredible impact these beautiful new shades make on the overall design of the space. It's like the entire aesthetics of our house took a major leap forward into gorgeous modern style - we LOVE our new shades! The only downside is now we want Julia to help us with new shades at our condo, at our work places and basically we want new shades from The Shade Store everywhere!

The best part of the experience for us was the excellent customer service The Shade Store and its designers provide. They don't waste your time with ridiculous short-term sales and heavy handed sales like Smith & Noble, which tries to lure you with gimmicky time-limited tricks intended to pressure you into making an immediate purchase. We felt so supported by Julia, that she would be there for us when we were ready. She really made it happen for us - do yourself a huge favor and give Julia Baker and The Shade Store a call! My husband and I highly recommend The Shade Store in Strawberry. Michael was a pleasure to work with and patiently answered all our questions. When some measurements needed clarification, he came to our home in a driving rainstorm to double-check everything and put us at ease. Once the shades were installed, it was an instant transformation. The natural feel and look of the fabric brought out the best in our sunroom. Even my dubious husband was impressed!

Update: Following my review, The Shade Store was able to ship our new shades overnight and install them correctly. Though the ordering process was difficult/delayed, very happy with the final product.

Original review: Back in October 2022, expecting my first baby, I placed an order for blackout shades for 2 windows in the baby's room with The Shade Store. Five months later (and a couple days away from my due date), we still don't have the shades installed. They were incorrectly made no less than three times, we have been through five unsuccessful installation attempts (now on the sixth), and I still don't have any sense of timing from The Shade Store on when the shades will actually be correctly made and installed.

I seldom write reviews, particularly negative ones. But if you're looking for a seamless, high quality customer experience for your project (not to mention one that will be completed within a reasonable time frame), I'd strongly recommend that you choose another company.
