Something was a bit off with the 10ft truck we rented. When we first got the vehicle, gas gauge showed half a tank. Going from here to the Vons in Oakhurst (~8.5 miles), the gauge showed we had already spent half of that! Here’s the weird part, we ended driving some more, and it went back up to half a tank. It’s obvious the gauge was not working as expected and we had no way of knowing precisely where we’re at. We ended paying more than we needed to for gas. When we were returned the vehicle same day and told them about it, they then told us that the truck had had problems and had been through the auto shop many times. The people who helped us were nice/friendly, but as someone part of the community, we felt kind of cheated due to lack of transparency. Obviously if we knew, we would have asked for a different truck.
