This is a long standing business in Thousand Oaks and while I only go in occasionally, I always find what I'm looking for as well as a super helpful staff. On a recent visit, Sean was the one who helped me carve out a great Christmas gift for my son - snowboard gear rental for a trip to Big Bear in January. He gave me all the info, answered all my questions, and even wrote it down for me. It was nice to have someone be so patient in helping me find the perfect thing.

We’ve been in a few times as my kid is getting into skateboarding. Each time the guys helping us have been super knowledgeable and fantastic working with my elementary-aged child.

Today we went in to get a board and Sean helped us through the whole process. When it came time to build it, he even proactively engaged my kiddo to help. Now, my kid has the pride of having built his own board and we have a skate shop we love.

Hard to shop local at stores you’ve been loyal to when they charge for customer service. I went in to try on and learn more about Burton step on boots and bindings and they told me it would cost 30$ just to try them on if I don’t purchase that day. They had a limited stock with limited options to even purchase from.

I have a kid who skates. The Thousand Oaks location is right by my house, and is the only skate shop within 15 miles. I really wish they were a good place to shop, but they are not.

I went in there today with my 9 yo kid, and told the rep "I don't know anything and I need help picking one.". He pointed to the long boards and said "they are all good. just get what you like", and disappeared into the back of the shop.

We stood there for a few minutes. nobody came back.

The boards are in different shapes. I have already expressed that I don't know how to choose. They each have 1 wheel off, so you *can't stand on them*. I felt foolish and left. Nobody spoke to us on the way out.

I told my daughter that there are a lot of other gifts coming for her, and she seems OK. But honestly, would I recommend this place? Hard no!

The last board we bought there has the Vals logo on it. I regret that purchase now, because seeing it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Awesome local surf shop!! I've been going here since I was a kid! Great selection of surf and skate gear. Cool clothes selection as well. The kids who work here are usually all pretty chill and helpful. They sell swimwear, hats, and shoes! They also have a great selection of surf/skate stickers too!!

Just rented equipment from here. Prices were very affordable- $35 for the whole package, and then $20 for each day after. Also they didn't charge for an extra day as long as I bring it back before 1pm. Very nice of them to do that (basically got a free day) all of the staff was very nice and helpful. The gentleman that helped us get fitted was quick and efficient. Will definitely be renting from here again.

This place is chill, they have some pretty great deals on used boards or new ones of you want. Clothing is the price you would expect at retail though. Employees are great though, they helped me out getting a board and threw in some wax on the house. Thanks again!
