Tim is a gifted craftsman and a down to earth guy. I have seen some current work. To which he displayed his fine craftsmanship, fine attention to detail and machining . I will go to ACOATING again to personalize my collection. My daughter was also amazed at his work and the presentation. I opted to wait to get pictures so you guys can see the final project. Lastly turnaround was fast. Highly recommend!!! The color is in Rose Gold.

Tim is the definition of professionalism.

So I finally bought my dream 2011 Staccato XL (purchased from Staccato Aug, 2024).
However I wanted a few things done to it (Flat Trigger, different Grip) and I wanted to make sure I brought it to the right person.

I called around a bunch, talked to a bunch of people most people don’t do detailed work on Staccato’s and/or they were super booked out.

On my way to take my 2011 Staccato XL do a guy I was referred to that could possibly/hopefully do everything I wanted (Parts-Wise) I thought, maybe I should look into availability for someone who can do great Cerakote work.
disclaimer, cerakoting/painting a gun is something you really want to be careful with if you want it done right, MAKE SURE the guys knows what they’re doing

Unfortunately the guys that did my custom paint job for my Glock were no longer operating out in AZ and had moved their business to TX. Anyway I called them and asked who they’d recommend in AZ, and they only gave me one spot, Alternative Firearms Coating.
Google searched, don’t know why he didn’t pop up in my original “gunsmiths near me search”… anyway I found that “Alternative Firearms Coating” had some pretty insane reviews!!

Called Alternative Firearms Coating and spoke to Tim. Tim was totally available.
Sweet! I explained to Tim that I was just gonna throw a few different parts on my Staccato XL and that’d I’d bring it to him to paint as soon as I could.
But no need, because Tim is a stud and does it all.
As if his 4.9 (should be 5) rating of 500+ reviews, he explained that he had 20 years of experience, which was very apparent because when I met with Tim It became very obvious that Tim was a master of his craft. He explained the process of cerakoting and parts assembling in great detail and why the step were very important. At this point I was completely sold and confident in his abilities based on his meticulous detailed knowledge, and visual representation of guns he was working on or had already completed. Needless to say I was super impressed.

Tim is also a man of character and integrity, after a few short days of having dropped of my Staccato XL, Tim informed me that the 2011 Wilson Combat Grip Safety would not fit my newly purchased (August, 2024) 2011 Staccato XL. Now fitting was possible and it wouldn’t be difficult for Tim by any means. In fact Tim fitting the grip safety to my frame would have meant more money for Tim. Instead, Tim explained that though he could fit the grip safety to frame, he advised against it for mere matter of caring for his customer ….me.
Tim further explained that if he were to make any cuts into the frame that it would ruin my warranty with Staccato.
I really appreciated Tim looking out for me instead of making more money off of me. That shows a lot of integrity and strong character. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known.

Luckily, with the assistance of Tim, I was able to find the correct grip safety from Dawson Precision (70 series). I would have never known that there was a difference between a 70 & 80 series, but Tim was there to guide me.

So within less than 11 days (drop off and Completed) Tim put together my dream handgun. Not to mention this is while dealing with my grip safety obstacle and having other customers….
This is very surprising to me because in my experience Gunsmiths have typically taken 30 - 60 days MINIMUM once they have your gun.
Tim is freakishly fast, with superb quality.

I wanna take a moment to talk about the trigger work he did. Staccato XL already has a nice 2.5 pound trigger, but let me tell you, Tim made it even better!! The slack in the trigger literally feels like air with a teenie tiny “tik.” It’s insane and I LOVE IT!!

Tim is phenomenal and gifted at his craftsmanship, he is honest with integrity, he is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and he’s freakishly fast.
