I have an ADA certified service dog that helps in the event I get a seizure. She said, “You can not come in with that dog.” I offered to hold him, as he is small. The lady said, “No: you leave. They make mess.” It was surprising because she was so blatant about it, and rude.
What a shame he store looked cute. This is a picture of her. Save your time and your money.

I was denied service by the OWNER because I had my Cardiac Alert dog with me.

Denial-of-Access Lawsuit will potentially be pursued in the coming days. She offended me deeply by her demeanor and tone.

Based on the current reviews already in here about discrimination, me being refused service is not a new action this business owner is taking towards disabled peoples.

*Unfortunately, once discrimination occurs, California law recognizes that harm is done. This is why California law provides a strong penalty that a disabled person can claim against the business. Moreover, under California law, the business is required to pay the legal fees of the disabled person’s lawyer.*

So… all of the people that have been discriminated against so far, and for the people that will encounter this woman in the future- pursue action. She will owe money to your lawyer. She will lose her business. Rightfully so, because this is unacceptable.

The woman told me she has owned her store for 25 years, and knows the laws. I asked her if she knew the two questions she was legally allowed to ask someone about their service dog and she said “no”.

Needless to say, I guess law enforcement will have to update her on policies once they fine her.

Disgusting behavior and discrimination.

I also disclosed to her that I had a heart condition and she said, “me too.”

I hope her place gets shut down!

Today, my friend and her service dog were denied entry to this business. The employee claimed to know ADA laws regarding service dogs; however when my friend asked her what the law was and what she was legally allowed to ask RE: service dogs she said she did not know. It's unacceptable to discriminate against people with disabilities. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, as evidenced by previous reviews. I recommend the employees take some responsibility and educate themselves when it comes to the ADA and maybe be kinder to people, especially since Lake Arrowhead is a town that attracts more than 4 MILLION Tourists a year.

Came into store to outfit my two daughters and two nieces for a party; not one of them is below 8 years old. The owner/manager followed around the shop at arms-length while mumbling , "do not touch anything. Though no one picked up single item, she said, :You must pay full cost of anything you break." Tried to pass the remark off as casual neuroticism, but then she actually said, "All of your children must wait outside. It is my store rule." Needless to say, the kids went outside, as did we. AVOID unless you've got a liking for ill-mannered, paranoid proprietors.

The Owner kicked us out of the store because my daughter has a service dog! Then her unleashed dog tried to attack the service dog.
Don’t patronize this trashy store that discriminates against the disabled.

A good friend mine had a total 'Pretty Woman' experience here where the shop lady profiled her and followed her around the store like she was a criminal and refused to let her try anything on. When my friend noticed she was being followed, she approached the clerk and asked if there was a problem. The clerk responded, "You make me nervous". She proceeded to tell (lie to) her, that other customers in the store were uncomfortable with her presence as well. Keep in mind, my friend loves to thrifshop as a favorite pastime of hers. Sometimes she dresses up but other times she goes in casual comfy clothes. Apparently you have to dress like Vogue's Ann Wintour in order to shop here... oh and casual browsing/window shopping is NOT allowed! So she ended up leaving and finding another thrift store in Crestline to shop and found some awesome cheap stuff! Today though, she had to return something she bought here prior to the profiling incident. Side note: she was dressed nicer this time around. When she walked in the clerk didn't recognize her and began offering stuff to try on and making sales suggestions. Needless to say my friend kindly declined her help and left the store without buying a thing and also feeling quite gratified. I do not tolerate this kind of treatment and had to let others rightfully know; YOU WILL BE PROFILED HERE if you dont look rich! Shame.

Clerk was kind to us & we weren't dressed up. Cute local shop. I don't know why some of the reviews are poor. My favorite is the hand carved soapstone jewelry.
